There are some kids clothes that come along, that makes you say: "I wish they had this in my size!" Well Telegraph Ave is one of those brands! Uber stylish, unique and super comfy. From their basics line to their seasonal styles, they have everything you need to build the perfect staple wardrobe. The basic tunic and harem pants are my go to travel outfit for Kai, and now they have bigger sizes so Liam can be twinning with his little brother.
My favorite pieces are the Blush denim vest and Dusty rose harem pants from their fall line, as it's super hard to find a "boy friendly" pink out there. Their garments are lightweight and soft so they are perfect for our mild weather in L.A. but they also make for great layering pieces in the colder climate.
Below I asked Mama, to Mara and Designer of Telegraph Ave, Aman Athwal whom I have the pleasure of knowing personally, a couple of questions about her brand.
Why did you start your company?
Simply put, I wanted a close relationship with my daughter. I come from a family of entrepreneurs. I had a women's line in the late 2000's and I yearned for that freedom to create and challenge to succeed outside a corporate world that would control the time I spent with Mara. I knew my next adventure had to be something that fulfilled me, soul pleasing you could say. It also had to resonate with me aesthetically, which meant minimal, sophisticated but with color. I realized that combination was missing from the children's world. So I set out to create it, with Mara in tow.
How has my life changed?
Ha! How has it not changed? The last 3.5 years of my life have been a whirlwind as I took on motherhood and entrepreneurship simultaneously. I am no longer wearing 5" heals paired the seasons latest designer apparel, I'm in holey jeans and Stan Smiths. Mara and TELEGRAPH AVE come before myself. With all the obstacles that I've pushed through, I am grateful that I am the one that got to face them.
